does anyone not see the double standards here?
I think the real bad news is that people are buying it and soon “SpecialGender” will now be in about mes.
The ultimate in “straight cis white people want to be oppressed”
the good news is that one is a joke, it’s a joke blog.
the bad news is that there is actually an ideology who is like that.
I feel your pain. We need to do something about this bullshit in colleges.
What the fresh hell is this? Granted this is the only dorm I’ve seen this in but I really couldn’t deal I’ve seen this everyday
Anyways I am stopping by in Grinnell Iowa for a couple of days so if anyone who reads this blog and hasn’t already met me wants to hmu let me know in fan mail or something
Does anyone here have any experience speaking out against SJWism in college?
Q:An honest and rather large question, but what are your feelings on the damage Social Justice blogs do by claiming psychological and developmental disorders such as autism, aspergers, downs, etc., the proliferation of falsified phobias, and how their misuse of non-binary genders and misinformation regarding transgender psychology has done irreparable damage to the evaluation processes needed by those who legitimately are affected by these situation and need them?
I think a lot of this itself is damage from the “you’re special” days of child rearing.
In psychological surveys, you would be specifically asked “have you been diagnosed by a clinician of the following?” since self-diagnosis has been around for some time actually, but not to this extent.
I think that the damage would mostly be in two areas: self-diagnosed people who begin to thwart psychiatry and treatment and others seeking treatment because it’s just a tool for society to “normalize” you. You already see this with the “neurodiversity” movement and “radical psychology”(google the latter and cringe).
The second one are therapists trying to be sensitive to their patients in a manner that enables them further and then they begin to buy into the crap over time, especially those who buy into the “safe space” mantra at it’s absolute. For example instead of saying “why do you think not being sexually attractive to people who you don’t know is not normal and common?” They’ll say “as a demisexual, how do others oppress you?”.
Q:i don't understand the problem people have with cultural appropriation, isn't "imitation the greatest form of flattery?" It's like someone pointed out how white people look weird with dreadlocks and then a bunch of people crusaded about it
From what I gather the issue about cultural appropriation goes like this:
It is very demeaning that a culture can oppress and discriminate against another culture while also taking bits and pieces of that same culture and make into a cute and kitschy cheap trend and fashion statement meanwhile the people they borrowed it from are suffering.
Sounds rather righteous doesn’t it?
Now let’s deconstruct this a bit.
Here are the assumptions made in this statement:
1. That everyone who enjoys things from an oppressed culture are racist and hate the people of that culture.
2. That every other culture out there is oppressed.
3. That “white” people today have to refrain from such cultural objects because of the sins of their ancestors and their government.
4. That nobody from an oppressed culture willingly shares their cultural icons and symbols.
5. That white Americans = racist conservatives
Also if you are hispanic and mainly of Spaniard descent then enjoying corn, Dia de los Muertos, and Mesoamerican art would be very offensive cultural appropriation because your ancestors from Spain slaughtered many of the people who created these symbols(ignore the fact some of those slaughtered were also your ancestors too).
Q:I'm a transgender individual. Female to male. I go by male pronouns, I'm on testosterone and have had chest surgery-- I pass completely for a biological male and am more than pleased about this. I have worked hard to get through life to where I am now, I'm proud of all that I've gone through. However! I do not introduce myself as 'transmale'. Now, you know something is wrong when I'm called 'transphobic' and 'cisscum' because I'm ashamed of all this 'phobic' SJW bullshit people pull everywhere.
You’re not alone, there are plenty of transpeople out there who object to and have been attacked by SJWs.
Q:Relating to the last ask, the problems is that SJWs don't seem to understand that systematic racism isn't the only kind of racism. Yes, white people have the most racial privilege in most countries, but that doesn't mean that making assumptions about all white people and being a dick to them because they're white isn't racism. It's just not systematic racism.
Another issue is that the very concept of “white” as a race actually does vary in many countries, especially in Latin America. Someone who is considered “white” in Brazil or Turkey would not be in the United States. If we are talking about skin color, well many Asians have skin paler than many white Americans. Meanwhile many people who would be considered “white” at a glance probably would not enjoy the same white privileges due to family history such as white hispanics and first or second generation immigrants from impoverished countries.
Hey, just wanted to say you are a hero, as is everyone who fights social justice bullshit. All of us with minds of our own and most importantly: common sense have put up with sjw crap for too long. I hope more people come to blogs like thxis that speak out against social justice, and realize what hypocritical shit it is.
Give em hell!Thanks.
Q:as someone with Aspergers, i came to tumblr thinking it was a place where i could learn and understand people like me as well as people in LGBT, feminism, and PoC groups (OOOOHOHOho was i wrong) but i kinda pretended to agree with a lot of ridiculous opinions debunked here, and considering i've never been someone who can trust their own judgement when it comes to morality and social issues i just went along with it for awhile to make myself feel like i was an active sjw and a decent human being
That sounds kinda like me whenI first came here.
Then stfuconservatives could not decide on a non-offensive metaphor for a misquote and peopletips demanded that we accept that “not all people are humans, some identify as non-humans and martians”. And then I was attacked for using the word “bitch”, and attacked for questioning what demisexual or asexual means and was thrown the “because it’s my identity” reason.
An Open Letter to Vegans
Normally I don’t cover vegans in this blog because I consider them another category, but I came across this and wanted to share it. However I disagree with the grain-bashing and there is evidence of grain-eating by foraging societies. According to paleo diet “logic”, if you are not of Native American descent then you shouldn’t eat chocolate, squash, beans, tomatoes, or turkey because your ancestors never ate them until the 16th century or so. Both links above are from paleo diet peddlers. Oh and gluten is just wheat protein and lately has become the devil.
Let’s real talk for a moment.
If you choose to be vegan or vegetarian, I totally, one hundred percent, support you. If you want to tell people about how healthy you feel since you went vegan/vegetarian, great! Share your experiences and tell people all about your dietary choices if you want. That’s totally cool and I think it’s great for people to get their opinions heard.
But please, for the love of scientific integrity, don’t LIE TO PEOPLE.
I am so sick and tired of hearing vegan/vegetarian scare tactics and blatant misinformation. YES the human body CAN digest meat and we are PERFECTLY adapted to it! Eating meat was a crucial part in evolving the large brains we have today! It was the intake of animal fat and protein that gave us the nutrients we needed to evolve our larger brains. It’s what separated our ancestors from the other great apes.
"But the human digestive tract is nothing like that of other carnivores! We more closely resemble herbivores! Clearly we were meant to eat veggies, not meat!"
Let me show you something.
This is a human’s digestive system:
The argument I often hear is that a human’s digestive system is “too long” for a carnivore. That most carnivores have shorter digestive systems, and that our longer digestive tract is evidence of our true herbivorous nature!
Well let’s look at a carnivore’s digestive tract to compare:
Does that look shorter than our digestive system? Sure! But then by your claims, your digestive system should more closely match that of an herbivore, right? Okay, let’s take a look.
What’s THIS shit? Multiple stomachs? Food is partially digested and regurgitated throughout the day? That doesn’t sound anything like how we process and digest our food. Not only is an herbivore’s digestive system FAR longer than ours, it has a whole bunch of extra organs that we DON’T have! This is even LESS similar to us than the carnivore!
Okay, so if we don’t perfectly resemble either of these examples, how do I explain the discrepancy? Easy! Human beings are OMNIVORES. We evolved to eat both meat and plant matter. Early humans were not picky in this regard. They hunted animals, they gathered whatever vegetables, tubers, nuts, and berries were available. If they could keep it down, they probably ate it.
And during the winter months, when vegetation was scarce, our ancestors relied almost exclusively on animals for sustenance. This is well studied by archeologists and anthropologists and probably a whole bunch of other kinds of ‘ologists!
Our digestive system is the reason you don’t have to keep throwing up your food and re-eating it all day, or keep constantly grazing, just to get through the day like herbivores do. You can skip a meal or two if you have to, and if you ate a particularly filling and nutrient-dense meal beforehand, you’ll be perfectly okay with this! This is the carnivore part of your digestive system at work.
"But our teeth more closely resemble herbivores than carnivores!"
And again missing the point. Our teeth do not particularly resemble a carnivore’s, this is true. But they’re not a perfect match for herbivores either. We are OMNIVORES and will not perfectly fit in either category. Now while it’s true that in a lot of ways our teeth ARE closer to herbivores than carnivores, let’s not forget that carnivores use their teeth for hunting and tearing meat. Human beings did not. We used tools to hunt and cut our meat. We had no evolutionary need to develop sharp teeth for tearing meat when we had primitive spears and knives. Cooking meat also made it easier to tear.
"But there is no nutritional need for animal meat that can’t be gotten from plants!"
Not true. Not true at all.
Now this is a bit of a funny technicality, because we live in an age where you can take supplements for just about anything, or get foods that are artificially enriched with whatever nutrients you’re missing.
But looking at things from a natural perspective, there are essential fats and proteins that you can easily get from one serving of meat, that you’d need MULTIPLE servings of MANY different types of vegetables to get. Not only this, but vitamin B12 is exclusively found in animal products (because only specific bacteria can produce it, and they are found in animals), and is necessary for our nervous system, our blood cells, and for DNA production. If you’ve ever felt fatigued, moody, depressed, or have trouble remembering things while on a vegan/vegetarian diet, then you’re probably not getting enough B12. Luckily, today you can just take a supplement and not have to compromise your diet.
This does not change the fact that there is a REAL, natural need for animal meat in the human diet. Just because you choose to substitute it does not change this fact.
"But carnivores can create their own vitamin C in their bodies! We can’t, so we’re dependent on plants for vitamin C or we get sick! Clearly this means we’re herbivores!
Oy. Come on. We’re OMNIVORES. We need both meat AND plant matter. This does NOT make us strictly herbivores.
We actually have the enzyme to create our own vitamin C just as carnivores do, but it’s broken in humans and doesn’t work as it should. (L-gulonolactone oxidase)
Evolution isn’t a perfect design, so somewhere along the line, we lost our ability to create vitamin C. However, as we are OMNIVORES, we are able to get our necessary vitamin C from plant matter, while still getting other essential nutrients (like protein, fat, and vitamin B12) from meat.
"But what about the moral reasons for being vegan/vegetarian?"
If you want to be vegan/vegetarian for moral reasons, more power to you. I think it’s admirable for you to take up the cause, and I agree that our food industry is despicable and needs a major overhaul. If you want to be vegan/vegetarian because of your objection to society’s push of unhealthy foods, good for you! It’s difficult to stick to a non-traditional diet with the way we’re constantly bombarded with all sorts of unhealthy foods everyday. It’s admirable of you to take the extra effort for your health.
So please, stop LYING to people about our biological make-up. You’re only undermining your own points and pissing off potential meat-eating allies (such as myself!) in your fight for cruelty-free farming and/or healthier food options!
"Shouldn’t we at least discourage meat-eating for health reasons?"
If you want, but if you dive in and do the research, more and more (and here’s one more, my personal favorite source to recommend on the subject) experts are coming out and saying that grains are actually far more harmful to the human diet, and that we did not evolve to eat them. That they may be the reason for our obesity epidemic, the boom in diabetes, and a host of other metabolic syndromes.
So replace meat (fat and protein) with grains (carbs and sugars) at your own risk.
Thank you for your time, and I’m sorry for this rant. I really just needed to vent.
Q:I really hate how the PoC SJW blogs use their free speech privilege to basically use it as a platform to write hateful speech against white people, at the end of the day, They're still being racist to another group of people, and are no better than the people who hate on them. but they hide behind how reverse racism isn't a thing and even go as far as bullying people sometimes. its really disgusting.
I have POC privilege for being able to dissent without being called a skinhead.
Q:I really hate this sjw bullshit. I used to think this site was about blogging pictures and I didnt notice all this stuff at first and then I started to see these angry people bitching about being oppressed. I started to think wow this is just ugly and negative and it is. Its started to affect me more and more to the point that Im now really uncomfortable. They're just all over the place and I literally cant get away from it. The worst part is these people refuse to tag this stuff.
That’s why I have pretty much quit.
Now I am finding this bullshit at college though.
